Redding, CA – The community is invited to the unveiling of a vibrant new mural at Whistle Stop Park on October 24th, 2024, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. This free event will feature music, food, refreshments, and vendor booths, creating a festive atmosphere for the public to come together and recognize artwork celebrating Redding's heritage.

This mural unveiling is part of the Paint the Town Redding initiative, spearheaded by Visit Redding and the Forward Redding Foundation, which seeks to enhance public spaces through artistic expression, fostering community engagement and beautifying the local environment.

Partners including Members 1st Credit Union, The Goodpasture Family, Sierra Central Credit Union, V!Va Downtown, McHale Sign Co., Cresco Equipment Rentals, and the Shasta Historical Society came together to support and sponsor the development of this mural, reflecting the collaborative spirit of Redding's business and creative communities. Their contributions have helped make this mural a lasting addition to the city’s growing public art scene.

The featured mural artist, Jess Mudgett, is known for his minimalist yet impactful designs that capture the essence of nature and human interaction. His works can be seen across the United States, and his latest piece in Redding continues his tradition of storytelling through bold, simple imagery.
