Members 1st Credit Union raised a total of $5,000 for Make-A-Wish in the foundation’s annual fundraising radiothon, and the donations from credit union staff and members exceeded Members 1st’s goal and will allow funding for half a wish.

“We were thrilled—but not surprised—to see the generous participation of our members and staff in giving to the Make-A-Wish Foundation,” said Caroline Redmann, CEO, and President of Members 1st. “Those funds will go to help ease the suffering of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families in our community.”  

Fundraising began in mid-February, a month before the radiothon, with branches challenged to raise $700 each. Anderson Rhonda branch exceeded their goal and raised over $1,400 at that branch alone! 

Staff participated with general donations, and the credit union matched up to $150 in donations from staff members, while credit union members who made $1 and $5 donations were given blue and gray stars to sign and hang at the branch. The credit union ended fundraising with a donation challenge announced on-air, where Members 1st matched $500 in donations received in the last hour of fundraising. 

The Make-A-Wish Foundation exceeded its goal of $75,000 for this year’s radiothon with donations of $86,734.
