Bring the Right Documents
Bring identification for both the parent/guardian and child. See details about identification needed below.
Sign Up and Start Saving
Once everything is set up, your child will have their very own savings account to prepare them for the future.
Identification Needed for Account Opening
Youth accounts must be opened in a branch. Parents or guardians new to Members 1st must bring one form of primary identification and one form of proof of residency. Children must bring one form of primary identification.Primary Identification
Please bring with you one of the following forms of primary identification below. Your identification must include a photo, date of birth, and full name.
- California driver's license or ID card
- U.S. Passport or card
- U.S. Armed Forces ID
- Federal Government employee ID (including name, photo, and date of birth)
Proof of Address
Please bring proof of residency with one of the following items below dated or issued within 90 days.
- Utility bill (power, water, cable, internet, propane)
- Paystub
- Insurance policy (health, home, rental, auto)
- Lease agreement or rental contract
- Mortgage statement
- Financial institution, loan, or credit card statement
- USPS address change confirmation letter
- Tax return or other tax forms
- Government issued letters
- DMV interim ID (California issued)
- Retail installment vehicle sale contract
Minor Identification
Minors must bring one of the following forms of identification below.
- Driver's license or state issued ID card
- U.S. issued passport or card
- Social security card

Banzai For School
Banzai is free, online financial literacy for students of all ages. It's interactive and fun. Over 40,000 math, business, family and consumer science, and computer teachers have joined the program nation wide.
Banzai exposes them to real-life adult financial dilemmas, from taming a budget and paying auto insurance to navigating taxes.

Bite of Reality
Bite of Reality is offered through a collaborative partnership between Members 1st Credit Union and the Youth Violence Prevention Council. This free financial training seminar is available to high school juniors and seniors and college-age young adults. The training focuses on budgeting, planning, check writing, and understanding a ledger.
